Tolle Lege Length Limitations: The Villanova Law Review has adopted a policy of limiting the length of the articles that we publish, and brevity is particularly important when submitting articles to Tolle Lege. We greatly prefer articles of 3,000 to 6,000 words or less, including all footnotes. Authors interested in publishing longer works are encouraged to submit their manuscripts to the print version of the Law Review.

Tolle Lege Style Guidelines: Authors may choose to submit an abstract, which will appear on the website with the link to their article. Due to Villanova Law Review conventions and the brevity of Tolle Lege articles, we strongly prefer not to publish tables of contents. All manuscripts must conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (19th ed. 2010), and The Chicago Manual of Style (16th ed. 2010).

Anti-discrimination Policy: It is the policy of the Villanova Law Review not to discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, religion, ethnic background, marital status, disability, or sexual orientation. As a matter of policy, the Law Review encourages and promotes the use of gender-neutral writing.
